I'm pretty surprised a lot of people miss their trainers, but it makes sense.
I'd buy a T-6 or PC-9 one day if/when I have the money!
Why pay for it why you can fly it forever on the Navy's dime! The T-6A can pull 7gs. It has 1100hp. The AF taught us to do formation aerobatics. It's a shit hot little plane. But I've also seen JOs standing around in the wardroom talking about how much fun they had flying a 172 around that weekend. Any good red blooded pilot is going to miss a plane they used to fly because they're all fun in their own way. I'd buy a T-6 or PC-9 one day if/when I have the money!
FIFYWhy pay for it why you canfly it forever on the Navy's dime!fly it for one more tour or two at the most until BUPERS inevitably puts the kibosh on the professional flight instructor program.
Really? That would be pretty contrarian to recent Congressional laws to both A) reshape officer career paths and allow officer careers to level-off instead of forcing up-or-out, and B) retain pilots to overcome pilot shortages. I'm not sure the Navy wants to fight that battle with Congress.

That is not what the PFI is about. Not at all.Really?
