Just flew AA's B777 and B787 premium economy product to and from Europe. It was very acceptable, and I haven't flown international in anything less than first class for many years.

I can't fault Pickle for his grade. Maybe I'd go with a B, but he is right. Run late for anything but weather, or a late bag, can't give an A.

I like flying on the ERJ-175/190 and CRJ-700/900 for domestic. You always get an isle or window. And maybe an isle and window if you get first class. Long distance, you can't beat the 787. I like it even in a middle seat in main. My nicest flight ever was First on a Lufthansa A380. That was a whole 'nother level. Of course, I'll take any plane to get me to a cool destination.

You’re the first person I’ve ever heard say they like flying on a CRJ. No bin space, and the curve of the fuselage is very noticeable. I go for a window seat on every plane but that one because it forces me to sit sideways.

For local CONUS stuff, I enjoy the 737. 757 was good, the few times I’ve ridden in it.

This was my second 777 ride, both times it was tight quarters.

I honestly don’t ride commercial very much at all. I’d rather drive if it’s less than 16 hours and have a car available...

What specifically did you like about the 737 or 757? The experience is largely up to the configuration of the seats, which is up to the airline. For example, some 777 operators (like United I believe) use 10 abreast seating in economy. Others use 9. Man the 777 is not a comfortable plane. Or maybe it’s fine.

It’s weird explaining this to a pilot.

Like I said, I don’t fly COMAIR much...when I do, it’s either on the Navy dime (cheap) or my own (just a little less cheap) and the best I can wrangle is an Economy Plus seat in the exit row...

Honestly, the best I’ve had in a long time was the three hour flight from SEA to MSP in a Sun Country 737. Lots of room, fairly comfortable seats, cheap as fuck...

They also gave free bags to military and let me board first without being in uniform (a pet peeve of mine that United does...”Cripples, infants and Military in Uniform to the head of the line”...like I’m somehow less tacticool than the AF specialist because I fly in civilian clothing...) with just my ID...
 
Excuse me, I’m in the military so let me in my assigned 17” wide, 31” pitch seat first. You’re welcome for my service.

If you can score a first/business seat that flight would be great. Main cabin actually isn't bad in Ethiopian but I think the IAD-ADD flight was 10-11 hours so it'll be a long day.
