What happens during and after MEPS?

I am applying as an Navy OCS candidate and wanted to know anything to watch out for during MEPS and after as well as if I am unsuccessful in joining as an officer, there is no contract I mistakenly signed that put me down as enlisted?

There are countless youtube videos covering MEPS, but if you're really worried about it all you may try and go to an MTF for the medical portion. Nothing is different, but from what I just did at Bethesda it wasn't as bad as some MEPS stories sound.

Welcome to the page. For future reference, make sure you do the homework searching and asking your local resources (AKA your recruiter) before posting a thread. With that being said, ask your recruiter along with searching around, both AW and out to find your answer. This has been asked COUNTLESS times.

Not everyone has the opportunity to complete a physical at an MTF. Some places will not accept civilian applicants due to $$$ or some other excuse which only leaves MEPS as the only option.

As someone who had to do both, definitely this. I definitely had more done at bethesda (X-rays, an actual dental exam, and it was in two parts). Also, you don't have to wait for two hours with a hundred other guys for a 10 minute test. That was nice.

Then again, having access to an MTF myself made it easier, and my recruiting office seemed to prefer sending me there instead of MEPS
