For all the young studs with new wings: invest in a nice camera and a long lens. You'll be happy you did in 10 years.
nice pics, I am guessing you took them getting a ride in the F-14?
Squorch, What are the green lights floating under the bird in the night shot? (over the water)
This is one of my favorite shots - a 30 second exposure (f/5.6, 420mm equiv.) from the, uh, area forward of the tower, on USNS Supply during night SAR jumps.Squorch, What are the green lights floating under the bird in the night shot? (over the water)
Thank you! Learned something new! That's a Hotel, which always had the ability (ie, "legal" paperwork in the MRC deck) to take the doors off.
Or make the wall of water gushing through door opening knock you around and injure you more.
Serious question: when would ops call for taking off the front doors? Not intuitive to an outsider...Nice to see the front doors coming off finally when the ops call for it - great to see change in policy.
