In case anybody else was wondering, this is what a fellow November indoc from last year told me:

Hey Joey H,

You'll have holiday/sunday routine thanksgiving and thanksgiving weekend. You wont be having much duty, except for certain watches.

For christmas, it's around the 18th to the 3rd. You'll pick the first half (xmas) or the 2nd half (new years) to go home. The week you don't take, you help with facilities and you'll have watch. You can opt to not take either week, if you don't wish to use leave.

I would anticipate a total of 15 weeks or so due to holiday breaks putting graduation date around Feb 14.

Thank you for posting that. I was wondering the same thing. I'm not sure if I think that'll be a much needed break, or feel like a distraction! Definitely a good introduction to Navy life with holidays though.

Hey guys! I'm current active duty aircrewmen going to be joining this class, driving up from Norfolk, VA where I'm currently stationed now. Got selected for Pilot back in July.

Personally I don't think going home after only 2 months of being gone and about a month and a half left is worth the money. I know going home during the holidays I will eat bad and not be as in shape compared to staying at OCS and saving my leave days. Im hoping to make a trip to new York for new years! It's less than 250 miles so won't need to take leave either.

Yeah, definitely not worth it. I agree! Plus staying shoveling snow is an awesome workout..if you want to look on the bright side of things!
