Whilest Waiting on OCS Selection...

I first submitted my packet back in Nov 2013, before I graduated with my Bachelor's degree. Now, I have a full-time job and am working on an MBA program I've been accepted to.

Not that I have any apprehension about the amount of time that has passed (without any word to the status of my packet), or about what I would need to put on hold to begin a career as a Navy Officer, but I'm starting to wonder if anyone else has endured as long a wait to hear back that they've made sufficient progress in other areas to even question their path toward a commission.

I'm starting to wonder two things: whether those who are passed up on by OCS boards actually receive notification of their rejection, and whether my OR is intentionally leaving me in the dark about things.

That's quite a long time without hearing anything at all. When was the last time you attempted or successfully contacted your OR?

3 weeks ago, and a bout once a month every month since I applied. I'm starting to have doubts that they're indeed getting no feedback in the affirmative or otherwise on my file.

Something doesn't smell right, to be honest in that amount of time you should have gone to board and found out the result, if it was positive by now you would have lost the spot.

What did you apply for?

I applied for everything I was eligible for, though I was really aiming for either SWO or NFO.
I have had a rather difficult time getting in contact with my officer recruiter since he frequently leaves to cover another region.

RUFiO, since I didn't catch you online to PM, I've started a private conversation thread. Hope to catch you online in a few.

If I were you I would call the NRD that your OR is attached to, and as to speak with your OR's supervisor. I had to do the same thing to find out the status of my packet as well. Talk to an Officer. I am more than willing to get you the numbers you need if RUFiO doesnt get back to you soon.

Appreciate it, Fedman. I'll take you up on getting that number from you in case, anyway. I was told to call in after 0900 tomorrow, and if I fail to get in contact with my OR again, I'll start climbing up the flag pole.

I'm not getting any younger, and all my qual scores are just getting older.

I'm assuming by your profile that you are in Tampa so here is the NRD contact info.

Thank you, fedman. I'll see what RUFiO can do within his power, but it's good to have a number to call in case I don't make any traction.

When I called the NRD one of the Officer just looked up my name and ssn to see what the status was on it, so I would say that anyone that has access to the system can look you up. Like RUFiO

It appears that each of those numbers redirects to a party other than the navy recruiting office.
It appears I have transposed the last 4 numbers. Called in, looks like the chain of communication ends with my recruiting office. Still waiting for anyone to respond from their number.

Thank you for the help, all!

Did you PM RUFIO181, if he has your full name it takes minutes for someone to look you up in CIRIMS

Apparently, CIRIMS has no record of me having ever applied. I cannot even imagine how that might be possible, as I have been told that my packet has been processing for a while now.
