Current TBS backlog?

I meant that it sucks that they have to wait months before they get orders so they get paid. For those who do OCC they get orders immediately, correct?

Why should the Marines pay you for doing nothing but sitting at home and jacking off 8 times a day?

They should have fixed the problem of waiting around and doing nothing a long time ago. I wonder how much money it costs having dudes with an extra year or more of time over the course of a career. Then again, thinking back to TBS admin check in and dealing with the CLRP program, it is probably a stretch to solve that problem.

Date of Rank is based off commissioning date (those commissioned during the may/june timeframe will have a DOR that coincides with the Naval Academy regardless of actual commissioning date).
AFADBD is based off the day you get commissioned. ie, no money till then unless you work PTAD with your OSO.

As mentioned earlier, if you do PLC, your PEBD is based off the first day of OCS provided you do not accept any tuition assistance for school. This can be a pretty good deal, especially if you do the split juniors/seniors program, your PEBD will be the first day of Juniors. Because of this, you can potentially be maxed out on the pay charts for quite a while.

It seems like the TBS wait has progressively gotten worse over the last few years. Im sure it is related to downsizing. When I went through, I waited about 4 months from commissioning (though I heard I was lucky) to class up. They were doing 7 officer companies a year with around 300 Lts in each. They packed us into Obannon like sardines. Do they still do that many?

I'm about to report to Delta company, for class 4-13. Only 4 classes so far this fiscal year. My gosh I cannot imagine them squeezing through that many bodies. Really 7 companies?

Update to anyone who's interested: one of my buddies commissioned a few weeks ago (air contract) and his TBS date was tentatively June '14..

Just to specify, my buddy who's waiting 9 months for TBS was PLC obviously. The scuttlebutt I've heard is that this is pretty standard, it seems like 6-10 months is pretty much the going rate unless you get lucky. Anyone heard differently?

I waited 11 months from when I graduated college to checking into TBS. On the flip side, the OCC-R guys in my platoon had ~4 days between OCS and TBS.
