I have no idea what goes on in marriage firsthand, no, but I'd love to hear from some others where cheating is somehow "OK" or "forgivable".
ALL that aside, I think that what was stated above is the point as it pertains to this thread. Having skeletons in your closet is a serious liability for a man holding some of the nations most important and delicate secrets. Not to mention, as someone at the very top of the food chain, both civilian and military, his professional career HAS to suffer, lest some junior enlisted or civilian personnel see nothing come of this and see acquiescence as condoning.
