Conflicting info on the SWO options board, I would say if you have a tech degree submit and see what happens.

They do not put it out to the fleet, and the schedule doesn't look anything like what was put out now so it is useless.
Sent my package in for SWO-IP and SWO-IW in may and have not heard anything back yet.

NavyOffRec,
I spoke with the Junior ED detailer/accessions manager yesterday and he informed me that the selection board for SWO-ED was "in progress." He also said that he was unsure of when the results would post. I submitted my package 01Aug12 and was PRO-REC'd 15Aug12. I assume this is simply the rolling board that you have repeatedly mentioned. Have you heard anything about a cutoff date or received any gouge that could support that a SWO-ED board has convened?
Thanks for your time.

Rolling boards are just that rolling, they submit the packages are they are rec'd, now if you were pro rec'd the board already looked at your application and gave an answer, generally you see pro rec'd Y/N/X for an answer, if you didn't meet requirements NRC would just pro rec'd X, and submitting 1 aug and pro rec 15 august is very fast for any board, so I am wondering if there wasn't an issue.

What was you degree in? In general the EDO community is strict about what degrees they take.

How would I know if it were Pro Rec'd Y/N/X ?

They had talked about moving the deadline/possible printing error on original schedule, and since I don't have any EOD applicants this year I didn't push the issue. It is possible they did move the deadline, however most of the OCS EOD selections are prior service/currently on active duty.

Do you happen to know how many applications were submitted for 1190 this year? (EOD)

I don't know a final number, but in the past it was 20-30, last number I saw was high teens, the biggest plus this year is they are picking a total of 10, one spot is already taken.

Those picked for FY12 spots were all on active duty, the did not select a single person that was a civilian.

I submitted my application, how do I find out if I was Pro Rec'd?

Can I still submit any additional documentation? (just got another NAM and would like to add it to the application)

nope, with the new system it doesn't work that way, and given when the deadline was it is probable the CD has already been burned to send to the board.

one NAM isn't going to make much of a difference if any, main thing is GPA and your run/swim/pu/su/pull ups.

Here is a the email i received today from a fleet processor about board cancellations and upcoming board. Attached is the upcoming board schedule, hope it helps.

Fleet OCS Applicant,
We are contacting you to inform of you of some important changes regarding OCS boards that you might have applied to. The following OCS boards have been canceled:
-AMDO has been canceled for August 2012 and is currently being rescheduled for February 2013.
-Supply has been canceled for September 2012 and is currently scheduled for March 2013.
-The IDC board for Intel, IW, IP, and the SWO-options have been canceled for this fall and are currently being rescheduled for February 2013.
-CEC had been canceled and currently no timeframe on when it will reopen.
We will not be retaining any packages for the boards that were canceled. If you applied for a designator that is still conducting a board, then your package will go to that designator only. The following boards have taken place or will take place soon.
There currently is another Pilot/NFO/SWO board scheduled for December 2012 and we will start accepting packages in October for this board.
EOD is conducting a board in September and the deadline is August 13th.
PAO will be conducting a board November 19, 2012. The deadline will be October 29th for that board.
Please remember that any scheduled board or rescheduled board is always subject to change.
For any board that is being rescheduled for 2013, we will start accepting those packages in November.
As always if you or anyone in your COC has any questions, please email us at ocsquestions@navy.mil.

Most of that jives with the latest emails, except the pilot/nfo/swo board, I wonder if the director of OCS accessions sent out an email and didn't cc the processors, that has happened before.....unfortunately, especially when you look at the numbers and they have pro rec'd enough for FY13 and part of FY14 which was supposed to be the purpose of the Jan board.

One thing this doesn't say is the tag on PAO is that the board is for fleet applicants only.

I would not hold my breath for Feb 2013 for most of those boards, especially since Intel/IW/IP guys that were pro rec'd are being pushed to FY14

It sounds as if the PM are going to be busy archiving kits if they aren't going to retain any of them.

You can also see how much this changed from the submitted board sheet, in just a few weeks. This always happens.
