Constantly lost in the sauce....
NAPS Class of 14 already were issued their smurf outfits. We Marine selects have to re-earn our right to wear digis....lol they aren't that appealing to me anyway with that stupid non matching "US Navy" name tape above my EGA.....

Blue Digi does not make any sense. If you can't see the man who feel overboard because he is blending in with the blue water, how ya gonna find him.

*facepalm* Not the point. People are already wearing blue coveralls on ships, like those are much more visible in the water? I think they look retarded too (though I would much rather wear them than khakis, but flightsuit always preferred), but that's what we get when we ask 18 year old AN Schmuckatelli what our uniforms should look like.

If you fall off the ship then it will be just your head sticking out of the water when they come to find you. Blue digis or coveralls, just make sure to take your cover off (digi cover or command ballcap)... that is unless you fall off the ship in Indian Country then stay covered and keep still to help blend in until you positively ID the SAR asset as a "friendly." The digis are better in this case because they have huge cargo pockets to hold your cover so when you get rescued and get back to the ship you won't have to buy a new cover! :)

Oh by the way, anecdotal evidence only but in >10 years I've been involved in only one "man overboard." It was a crazy person who stripped down to skivvies in front of several shipmates and jumped over the side- at night (JFKBATGRU workups late 2001). Don't think the type of uniform made much difference (I think even dungarees were still authorized) and talk about a dumb way to get out of deployment?!?

So nowadays, on Fridays if your a future Aviator/NFO you wear Flightsuits? Are they the green ones or the Khaki ones?

Green bags.....although some do wear the khaki flight suits. Some Marine units allowed midshipman to keep the flight suits issued to them during their MAGTF cruises, which explains the khaki colors. Do Navy folk wear khaki in the fleet?

Gotcha, gotcha. They do. On Navy.mil, they just tested a Bio-feul F/18 super hornet, and in the video, the Test Pilots were wearing Khaki.

You'll be issued two of each at API if they have both flavors in stock your week. If not you'll have a chit put in your NATOPS jacket and you pick them up at supply shops along the way in your journey.

Desert... not Khaki...
oh correction noted... the guy wearing it referred to it as a "tan" flight suit....lol. Only navy pilot and NFO selects get the honor of flight suits here anyway... danma has better gouge on this than me...

In short, yes, on fridays and/or the days you have practicum you can wear your flight suit. Unfortunately, my practicum is on friday so, I only have flightsuits one day of the week.
