Alpha Co

I'm curious if any of the current TBS guys have any idea on what the numbers are going to look like for Alpha. I'm hearing that there is a good chance that the air contracts are going to get rolled into Mike and do IFS before classing up. I just want to know if I should have my lube handy when I check in. I'd like to spend as little time as possible in Quantico, as that place eats your soul.

I am headed to TBS in two weeks as well. How would they decide which air contracts class up immediately for TBS and which do IFS first? I'm guessing PFT score and swim qual have something to do with it?

Bingo. No one is going to know how many air guys you're going to have until after zero week. Everything you hear prior to that is essentially bull shit. Hell, anything you hear from your student staff is probably at least half bull shit.

Hey guys,
Don't stress it, the way they did it back for us in A-05 was they took volunteers and gave them an opportunity to do some extra MCMAP. They had enough volunteers but the next thing they were going to do was to take the lowest PFT scores and drop them a company.

Before my company picked up at TBS they were saying that they would only take 25 SNAs or something crazy like that. I think we wound up having around 80-90. Rumor mill abounds.

If you do get rolled, at least Bravo probably has marginally better weather when you are out in the field.

Wasn't it Blizzard Bravo who snapped-in for grass week with 6 inches of snow on the ground? Only to get rained on for their entire week at FEX2 and 3?

Gotta be honest, we have had pretty awesome weather here in Delicate Delta.

They rolled all the SNA from F into A when I went through. And that decision was made a few hours before we were all suppose to class up. Semper Gumby. It's time for you to just sit back and ride the big green weenie. Doesn't matter how much time you're like to spend in Quantico, cause it's not your decision. Welcome to the Marine Corps.

It was more hope that my stay in Quantico would be short rather than finding a way to make it short. Plus I've already been slapped with the green weenie once, so I was fully expecting it again at TBS. Guess I'll find out on the 20th.

Well hopefully you are a good swimmer and have a decent pft. My buddy in Delta told me that they had about 90 air contracts show up on check in day and they only took 75. The rest had to wait for Echo.

Also, if anyone wants to split a hotel room with me for sunday/monday night before check in, let me know.

Food for thought.

I have some close friends in Golf right now and they only dropped like 3 people total (not counting medicals) and they asked for volunteers. Nobody would so they picked 3. My buddy said he saw the MOS counts for Golf and Alpha and said that the air contract numbers for Alpha was about the same as Golf (around 50 or 60).

Also, Golf took a smaller class (only like 260) and the rumor around the streets is that they are bringing all of the classes back down to that size, though I'll believe it when I see it.

I got to check out the new Barracks that Golf is in right now last weekend and they are pretty nice. Dont think Alpha will be in them though. Im checking into Alpha next week as well, so I'll see you all there.

I'll be up there on the 20th with you guys too. Hey let's just stop worrying about whether were going to class up or not because 90% of it is out of our hands. It would be nice to get classed up but at the same time it wouldn't hurt too bad to get assigned to do IFS first. On the other hand, not looking forward to leaving the beautiful women on the campus of florida state :(..
