F-16 "Vipers" were scrambled by NORAD when a stolen Cessna crossed the border flown by a pilot hoping to be shot down.

I heard about this on the news last night. I'm glad they finally caught the guy, last I heard he landed his plane and was on the run. This is a pretty crazy way to end your life, at least he had enough sense to avoid heavily populated areas.

Because while at the pearly gates it would sound much cooler to say he wanted to get shot down rather than just crashing it...or he just wanted to waste the American taxpayer's dime.
