I need to find a DAK 239 to try. I figure in this day and age, there's no reason to pack .380 or .32 when there's full size calibers available in the same size.

Tried a Walther PPS, and I was favorably impressed, at least dry firing it at the counter. I'm curious how the 239 compares.

I was at the local gunshop today and was playing with the Sig SP2022, the Sig Pro. That thing was fantastic. I'll probably pick it up this week when I get back out there. If anyone is looking into Sigs but doesnt have $800+ for a new one, look at the Sig Pro/SP2022. It has all the same features, but has a polymer frame.

I bought a SP2022 at a gun show last year. Wasn't looking for that one in particular but picked it up and it just fit. Got it for about $450.

When I started my new gun search the SP2022 wasn't even on the radar. I picked it up on a whim and wound up liking it a ton. I was really impressed by the trigger, both DA and SA. The night sights are a sweet bonus as well. Unfortunately they arent 450 out the door in this day and age!

A few things...

-I own a P226R (.40) and a P239 (9mm). They're both FANTASTIC.

-The 556 is beautiful. You can't go wrong with a gas piston. My friend owns own and he can't say enough about it. I actually shot it for the first time last week, it puts my Rock River "Tactical CAR A4" to shame.

-The Sig mail-in rebate for LEOs and Military is great. I bought the 226 in November and received the check last month.

- www.topgunsupply.com is an EXCELLENT place to purchase SIG items. They undercut the competition on mags by about $5 or so. They also have the M11/P228R in stock for ~$800. They normally have most pistols in stock and are competitively priced.

I LOVE SIG SAUER.

Also, I hear .357 SIG is expensive... you pay a premium v. .40/9mm for it?

Yes, but with a conversion barrel, most if not all 357 SIG guns will shoot .40 S&W. The 357 SIG cartridge is just .40 S&W necked down to take a 9mm bullet. Magazines are usually similar if not identical.

Aren't the 228/9 stock mags too short for the 226? (the reverse is true, though, 226 mags will fit in a 228/9 but stick out).
