Agreed! I think having a nice spit shine on my leathers this morning may have saved me!
The shined leathers probably saved you is morning becaus they know you keep your mouth lubricated for when they need you to get on your knees.

But seriously every training command I have been in has always had the same type reaction when more than 2 people are involved in something illegal or immoral. Take the pain, follow orders, and treat them like they are being serious even if you suspect they are not. And like someone else mentioned, if they take the time to give you a pink sheet for an inspection, they only have to wait for you to get 2 more through IFS and API. Easy way to attrite for 2 test failures, instead of waiting till you get to 3.

Well, just got back from the afternoon inspection. It turns out 6 or 7 people didn't even show up. So in the LT's eyes, that counts as 3 automatic pink sheets and they are going to be sent to a board.

It sounds like the folks running A-pool are doing a good job of getting the dirt-bag 10% to identify themselves.

I really hope that when I hit A-pool in 2010 it's back to the fun, easy time everyone used to talk about...

:)
That's up to the current crop of A-pool'ers now. Look sh*t-hot for your inspections, take your medicine and for Christ's sake, act like an officer and the pain will be over and back to normal.

The whole getting rid of 100 a-poolers is related to this fiscal year. So basically they have until October to cut numbers.

Cut these type of guys all you want. Kind of childish thing to do to the ones that are already squared away.

Well there will be like 150+ more showing up this June/July/August so I'm sure there will be more than enough mistakes between now and then. On a side note, I do honestly feel bad for you guys. A-pool really was a joke even 10 months ago and none of us had any of that down-sizing noise hanging over our heads....but like anything else, if you want to succeed you will do what it takes. Beers on me next time I venture down to Pcola and the Mustin club....its gonna be all good ;)

Well, I know its our jobs. But when you have an LT who can't find something wrong with you so *name withheld* just says that you have an IP somewhere, that's a bullshit reason to get a pink slip. Seems like everybody had at least an IP infraction. I had knocks on my ribbon and Ensign bars, so I didn't get anything for IPs. I swear, if I get a pink slip this afternoon for having a slightly crooked cover again because I was shivering the cold for 2 hours at attention, I'm going to be so f'ing pissed. Disenroll the PRT failures, I fail to see how an IP can be a concern that would affect your flying capabilities, whereas physical fitness on the other hand.

Did you know...that the beer drinking, smoking, hefty guy has a higher resting g tolerance than the marathon running PT stud. Unfortunately you don't get to decide who stays and who goes so stop whining like a s-bag and make sure all of your shit is perfect. Also, you seem to be quick to criticize those around you, but what are you doing to help your fellow SNAs. Aviation is a team sport so if the team sucks so do you.

If you wan't a bigger ass pain than API go to Vance. I did not go there, but I have spoken to instructors and friends that have.

Stop bitching about pink sheets. You will get some before you are said and done with this program, and your API ones will give you something to laugh about down the road.

Sorry your commission is not the vacation you thought it would be.

I have to say I am personally offended that the potential SNA's got only misdemeanors and the potential SNFO's got the felonies...when did we turn into pussies?
Word on the street is these clowns used their one phone call to PHONE MUSTER!.......not call an attorney or family member!

Wow - I guess they truly did lose four classes worth of Midshipmen under Rempt's tenure at the US Naval Academy. I can not beleive some of the things you guys are complaining about. It is time to stand up and be an officer. I know of many people who have problems but yet are motivated and give 110% everyday who are doing well in the fleet. Many (not all) leaders will recognize the talent and work with those who truly gives a damn. THose with a lot of talent tend to get cocky and think they are owed something. Then they are shocked to see the system get fed up with their bullsh*t and drop them in a second.

All of you know what you need to do. Just do it; if not .... well get use to the phrase do you want fries with that. This thread pisses me off .....

Everyone needs to stop bitching. Does this mean I don't empathize? No. But this does mean that I understand where they're coming from.

Big Navy is overmanned with JO's - so they're trying to figure out ways to get rid of you anyway. Fair? Probably not. But life is not fair. Throw in that some percentage of young officers in A-Pool just got arrested for shooting federally protected birds on a wildlife refuge, and you see very quickly how a target is drawn on your back.

Play the game. If your ribbons are fucked up - replace them. If your cover is cockeyed - fix it. This too will pass.

Probably the best advice on here so far. Be glad you are in the program at all. Do anything it takes to stay in. People are lined up at the door for your slots.

Sounds like people are getting bored. Those of you in the pool might want to think about some type of volunteer work in the community. Be a great way to accomplish something worthwhile, use up some of your spare time, and "show the flag."

All of this...ALL of this would be avoided with a simple daily physical muster. Phone muster causes too much temptation for so many thing like busting liberty limits and getting fat. Idle hands and all, you know. Ounce of prevention anyone?.
Unless things had changed massively, A-Pool was a physical muster every morning. The phone was used only if your car broke down or something for one day only type of thing, which is why they got caught so easily. Someone correct me if I am mistaken.
