I took them both but am not sure which to submit, is there a camparison chart anywhere to decide which score is better?

All those long years ago when I was applying to college, it was generally accepted that you only took the ACT if you were worried about your SAT score. The latter being the more "standard" of the two and the former being, "less tricky."

I have no idea what the Navy thinks.

Hi, I'm only 36 credits left with my Bachelor degree, should I still apply for STA21 or just wait till I finish my degree then go for OCS?

PLEASE ADVICE! Thank you!

Why not apply for STA-21 until you graduate and then try OCS if you don't get picked up...

The rule is to apply as early as you can as often as you can..

The websites of either company should have a chart stating what the average scores are for everybody who took the last test on a bell curve. It takes some surfing around on their sites to find it. Also, your score printout should help.

If they meet the requirements, submit them both. I did that and was selected, although my math scores were average at best.

I agree, apply for everything, but take STA 21 instead in the chance that you get both. That way you'll have three years to get more of an education. However, if you are getting old and applying for say, pilot, perhaps OCS is a better option since you'll get your butterbars in a more timely manner.

I'd definitely say it's a personal decision - there are a few things to keep in mind: first, it depends if you are looking to go back to the fleet quickly or if you'd like to do the college thing for a few years. From observing the situations of different people that were selected for the FY09 cycle, even some people that were almost done with their degrees have to go to school for 2 years or so because all their credits don't transfer. So you might be better off going the OCS route but you might benefit from STA-21 as well.
As the previous poster mentioned, if you're getting up there in age and there's a pretty tight age restriction on your option, you might want to go OCS. Hope this helps.

What are you talking about?

Our command has a separate POaM for the program. All applicants need to have their packages (3 copies of them) to the career counselor by May 22 so their respective divisions can look them over. Thats the last time an applicant here can adjust their packages. (lol that sounds funny.)

It depends on how old you are and how much time you have to d!ck around in college. That's the truth, even if you got shipped out to NSI tomorrow, more than likely STA-21 will take you at least 2 years longer.

Just got my ACT results. Scored a 20 on the math (need a 21). Kinda bummed I only missed it by 1 freaking point! Oh well I guess theres always next year.

Does anyone know if the CWO flying program will continue next year?

I was reading my commands officer instructions. It says max age for STA-21 Pilot is 29 with waivers but for OCS its 31 with waivers. Can anyone confirm this? I have my AA now and might work on getting a BA/BS if the STA-21 thing doesnt work out.

uuugh, I am having such a hard time with my personal statement. I am applying for Nurse Corps and I know why I want to be a nurse, that's easy. It's the why do you want to be an officer that I am having trouble putting into words.

Is there a specific requirement for which portion of the transcript to include... Or is the Combo report expected?

Thanks.
