Disregarding the rumor that Palin's newest infant is perhaps Bristol's child, anybody else find it incredibly irresponsible of Palin to fly from Texas to Alaska AFTER her water broke?

The more time people have to research this women, the more this choice for VP looks ridiculous. Welcome to national politics. Could I perhaps be sensing a little bit of regret? We knew McCain has regretted it from day one, considering he was the one who wanted to pick Lieberman, but his counsel urged STRONGLY against that.

If this is all the Democratic attack machine can come up with to sling mud at Palin, she'll be in fine shape for November. Was the child killed or even harmed? Was a crime committed here? Not that I see. I know nothing about pregancies and don't know (or particularly care) whether her timeline was risky. I'm electing my Vice President, not my mother.

By the way, even the loonies at Daily Kos retracted the "Palin faked her pregnancy" idiocy.

The pregnancy is a non-issue for me from the pro-life/pro-choice standpoint. But it is definitely problematic. Anyone that has been in a similar situation knows that the teenage daughter is going to need a lot of help that will detract from Governor Palin's time. That worries me. Because McCain's age and health worries me. McCain for President - sure thing. McCain/Palin - starting to concern me more and more...

Yes, it is incredibly risky and I feel it speaks volumes regarding her judgement. I've spoken with two family friends who are both OBGYNs and they said considering this was her 5th (is that correct?) that she absolutely under no circumstances should've waited that long to get to a hospital, let alone fly across the country. Very risky behavior. No, the child didn't die but it still doesn't mean that what she did was right.

It's also a big issue regarding her abstinence ONLY education mindset. Maybe had her daughter been educated, she wouldn't be pregnant :icon_wink

I think this is all just a big bunch of nothing. And I highly doubt Palin would have put her self or child into any kind of risk, there is probably more to it then that.

Hillary's supporters all support her even though she has God-knows how much dirt to be dug up and stayed with her cheating husband. They stick with Bill even though he cheated on his wife, hell they LOVE Bill.

And many stick with Obama even though he has a clear conflict-of-interest regarding his relationship with his pastor and his history with some other folks.

The Left are just trying to find ANYTHING they can to discredit the woman, because they view her as a massive threat that must be squashed immediately. The Left thought they had this election sealed up after Obama gave his speech on Thursday night, then McCain comes out Friday morning and blindsides them with his announcement. You know when your enemies bring out the attack dogs in full force, that you have struck a nerve.

I'm not doubting your post, but could you provide a source? I'd like to be able to quote a proper source when using the above for arguments. I tried to find this data the other day, but by google-fu was weak...or maybe google didn't want me to find it...

Bah. You Left/Right folks are so completely blinded by your own ideology that you fail to think about things clearly. Meet me in the middle when you're ready.

No, not even close. I think she is a pathetic choice. I would have been 100% for Kay Bailey Hutchison. Now THAT would have been a wise pick.

Enter the ticker symbol you want in the search box, then when the company comes up - on the left hand side under "Company" you can click "Key Statistics" and get their profit margin. Any company that's publicly traded you'll be able to find out. For the tickers:

RDS-B = Royal Dutch Shell
BP = British Petroleum
XOM = Exxon Mobile Corp
PFE = Pfizer
MRK = Merck & Co
PM = Philip Morris
GOOG = Google

Other companies/industries are tougher to track down because of their parent companies. They're not traded, their parent companies are...

I am not "right-wing." I am pro-choice for the first trimester. But I tend to side with Republicans far more than Democrats for our country's issues economics and foreign-policy wise. I highly doubt Roe v. Wade is not going to be overturned anytime soon.

She would have been a good choice too, but I disagree that Palin is any "pathetic" choice.

Sorry, while KBH has tons of great political experience, she is officially pro-choice which would have angered the very vocal and powerful Religious wing of the Republican party. Not so wise a choice politically.

No it would not have been. (1) This race does not need another Senator (2) The Republican Party needed someone who has not been in politics for the bulk of their life (3) The Republican Party needed a conservative outsider.

Palin will fill that bill. Senator Hutchison would not, besides, she wants to be the Texas Governor.
