Pink is at it again

QuagmireMcGuire

Kinder and Gentler
I had never heard of this Code Pink until reading it on this site. I am not interested in learning anything more about them as I find their words and purpose to be in conflict with each other.

Idiots, plain and simple. I'm over it, I just enjoyed the part about the Gov. wanting to revoke the finances from Berk.

This makes my blood boil. All I can say is that it is poetic justice to take money from Berkeley and give it to the Marine Corps. Thank god someone in power (congress) has a brain in this case.

If America is to suffer another terrorist attack, let's hope it's a surgical strike on Berkeley, CA....

these are the people who claim to be open and welcoming of all people... except the military and people that dont share their views... hypocrites and fools... whining and complaining about rights and freedoms... they take them for granted and arent willing to earn them... things they wouldnt have if the Marines and all of the other branches hadnt fought for them in the first place

I loved this quote:

Out on Shattuck Avenue, it appears the protesters have no plans to leave anytime soon. "We are the civilian population; we control the military," Adams said. "We the people have to take back our control of the military."

REALLY?!?! Since when do I take orders from this asshat? Is he an elected official? Go smoke a dubie and shut your man pleaser.

The Gunny for the MC Recruiting Command handled it perfectly. "The Marine Corps is here to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, which does guarantee the freedom of speech," Franklin said. "In terms of the situation in Berkeley, the City Council and the protesters are exercising their right to do so."

I just wish they'd do something constructive, like volunteer to be human shields again.

I have to say that the Marine Corps is handling this situation very well by not doing anything in response and just letting these people show the country just how dumb they are.

I wonder how busy the Berkeley Devil Dog recruitment center is. I can't imagine that they find many qualified applicants there. Though if it pisses people in Berkeley off, I think they should stay open for that reason alone - get the Army, Navy, and AF in there too.

I bet these people would oppose a Coastie recruitment center.

I helped them move into that office about a year or so ago and what the article fails to mention is the fact that the the office belongs to an OSO. He moved there from Alameda because for one, their old building was being torn down and the OSO wanted to open up the new office close to UCB since a lot of his applicants were from UCB. Having an office near by would make it a lot easier for students to come in and talk to the recruiter. Anyway, i'm glad its still open and I hope it stays that way. I like pissing off the local idiots as much as I possibly can.

what percent of RL officers get jets?
"Join the Marines. Travel to Exotic Lands. Meet Exciting and Unusual People -- And Kill Them."

That actually really makes me think, "I should've gone Marines..." :D

That's almost an exact quote from Full Metal Jacket

"I wanted to see exotic Vietnam... the crown jewel of Southeast Asia. I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture... and kill them. I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed kill!"

The least they could do is cite it...

My favorite quote is "If recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders,"

I'm pretty sure the Marine Corps has been uninvited and unwelcome intruders in far tougher places then Berkely, CA and have faced stiffer opposition then Code Pink before ;).

And I've seen "Join the Marines. Travel to Exotic Lands. Meet Exciting and Unusual People -- And Kill Them." on many Marine Corps t-shirts and posters before, so I'm not sure that's going to discourage anybody.

How enlightening those open minded individuals are.

Came to post that quote about Marines defending their right to free speech, which they are in turn exercising, but someone beat me to it.
