My wife and I are thinking of getting 1 or 2 handguns for personal protection (under the bed, in car for traveling, etc). Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be good to get and from where? We are currently in Pensacola. Also, does anyone know much about the concealed handgun courses/permits in Florida?
We appreciate the help. Thank you.
Seriously, guys ... you keep going on and on about "price". All of you do it. We're talking about a potential life-saving tool, here ... you ain't gonna' remember the extra bucks in a month or two.....The only bad thing about HK is the price...

At the end of the class they brought out 15-20 different handguns for them to shoot, Glock 19, Kimber .45, S&W .38, etc. to allow those who weren't familiar to gain a small amount of experience and help the decision process if they were looking to buy. Completion of the course also means you are invited to monthly tactical courses they offer.
What kind of pistol would you suggest for carry purposes?

Believe it.
Im with you on that A4's. I just hear people say they don't like HK because of the price. I only own HK's so I'm obviously okay spending the extra money for something that will work every time I shoot it.
No you're not -- I just wanted guys to look at the "whole package" instead of focusing in on the price first, second, and in some discussions I've read herein, third. It's like --- price is the first and final determinant for some fellows ......... I don't see a problem choosing to carry the Glock because its cheaper.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the point here.
