C'mon, you can go lower than that!
What the heck are you flying? Is that a fixed wing aircraft down at helo bubba altitude?!? NICE...One from me, if you can't have fun flying whats the point.
Or as a good friend once said, "altitude is for wimps"
It is a C-123. (like a C-2 for you Navy guys) Radar ALT was screaming at 65 feet and only 170kts.
See some AF guys can have just as much as you Navy guys, but I am not about to try strapping my ass to a cable to stop on a carrier.
We were down in South America to "help" the Treasury department and DEA with their unending fight on drug trade, was a good time and definetely some interesting flying.
Overall it's a losing cause from what I saw while there.
And with so many things ... that is correct.......take on the (DEA) war was short of killing everybody and starting over you were never going to stop it because the government was just as dirty as the drug runners if not worse.
And with so many things ... that is correct.
Just my $20 worth ..
Normally wear Civies while in support of the Fed's down south?
Had a proffesor/mentor who was former DEA and did 3 years in Columbia during the Early 90's. His take on the war was short of killing everybody and starting over you were never going to stop it because the government was just as dirty as the drug runners if not worse.
Well as the saying goes "When in Rome"
Their callsign was "Ravens." And when you heard that revered name upon CAS check-in, the heart beat faster with instant awe and respect….
Below is a picture of some great guys . . .
[/I]Different time; different place (but not really all that different) ... it sounds similar to these guys: American Volunteer Group
Here are a couple of me and some other crewmen from my last deployment. Shooting the .50 cal was the bomb! Probably the only thing I will miss about being enlisted.
