For an airline speak neophyte, I'm wondering if you could explain this a little more. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a PFT'er...don't almost all of us pay for advanced flight training (ATP, type ratings etc...) Why are these guys so much less capable/respected? Doesn't everyone have to start somewhere? Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending these folks, I'm just trying to understand the system a little better. How do I avoid becoming one of these should I transition to the airlines someday?!Anyone hired at those numbers would have almost certainly PFTed (Paid for Training) - in other words "bought their job". PFTers are not well respected by the rest of the industry as they contribute to the lowering of the profession.
