Holdback broke.I just saw this one a few vids down. Was there some sort of miscommunication or was the man on the deck not paying attention? That looks like it hurt like hell.

...but normally we do our low-levels at 500' AGL.
More than that, we do them at 360 kts ... and the gray jets go lower and faster. It's a good time ... assuming you don't hit a bird, or Cessna for that matter.Truly baffling...for something that goes twice as fast... Alright, I'll hold my comments for the bar sometime. Thanks for the reply.

I stand corrected. Out of curiosity, how fast do y'all go?Yeah, that's actually less than twice as much...
I was briefed a completely different story, so I believe you are wrong.Holdback broke.

My bad on leaving everyone hanging. Apparently the student was holding the brakes waiting for the shuttle to come back when he thought he saw someone giving him the take tension signal (you can see him wipe out the controls). He releases brakes and the rest is on the video (also noted you shouldn't be on the brakes when taking tension). I don't think the holdback was ever in place. Big time miscommunication. So what's the skinny?

Out of curiosity, during the footage of the dudes rockn' and rollin' over land, what altitude is that at? Not trying to get someone in trouble, just seemed like in this risk adverse era it's relatively low for the training command. Is it part of a low-level training flight?
I haven't watched the second video that was posted but the regs are 500'. No MAC (Min Altitude Capable) runs in the training command. We'll be out in El Sweato during the last 2 weeks in April for the Weps Det. If anyone is around or wants a tour, look me up. I'm not hard to find. Just ask for Frumby. Semper Fly!!!
