I disclosed marijuana use to meps and an nsa agent during a security clearance meeting and told my recruiter and just got unofficial pro rec y for sna today with 6/6/6. My recruiter at the time was pretty absent minded and then was changed shortly after however and you saying that is making me question whether or not he submitted a waiver for me after all, but as far as my personal experience (which is not much) i have not seen any limitations of disclosing marijuana use so far other than not being eligible for isel if my scores were at that point. I wouldnt have gotten this far if i didnt have a waiver right?

I’m not too worried about it right now. I spoke with someone who was an NFO my recruiter sent. He explained there is a lateral transfer process from NFO to SNA and said the people that did it were selected. 6 out of 8 were selected. He also said that there’s no way I would’ve been selected for SNFO if weed was an issue. The office person I spoke to that was negative about marijuana is very experienced and more seasoned, but I also think his long time of experience could potentially be based on prior attitudes toward past use.

Do not count on the lateral transfer program, especially now. It's meant to supplement SNA numbers, and the Navy isn't exactly hurting right now. If you want SNA, wait for SNA. Don't go into the NFO program looking for a way out because it's likely the only way out will be outside of aviation or the navy as a whole.

I showed up to OCS with zero knowledge. In fact, I didn’t even know the OCS structure. I was literally clueless lmao. You’ll be fine but the first couple weeks will be a grind.

“You apply to the board during your sea tour, after you wing at flight school. There are two boards a year. If selected you would then be sent back to primary flight training for pilots.” “It's not always a given ,but if you apply there's a decent chance you will be selected ”

This is what I was sent but I agree that I should wait.

I know exactly 2 people who have done the NFO to SNA pipeline, both are great guys and most likely had to bust ass to get picked up for it. With most things in the Navy, they also probably had impeccable timing

Yeah man decline SNFO and go for SNA if that’s what you want. I did it. DO NOT count on lat transfer later.
