The way my recruiter explained it me was that SNA/SNFO age waivers are signed out by the NRC CO, not the Aviation OCM. I’m not sure if he meant his immediate CO or someone higher up. It’s not automatic and it took a few weeks both times I had to get it.Well, myself and my recruiter both found out today that I was automatically pushed to the November board without being reviewed at this board due to the fact that if I had been selected, I would have commissioned after my 32nd birthday, and I didn’t have an age waiver. Had only a brief conversation with my recruiter, and he said I am currently all set for the November, age waiver already approved and everything.
I’m looking for insight on the age waiver process, my recruiter almost made it seem automatic. Or would it have been something that he had to initiate a while ago?
But, you’ve got it now and I get the impression that the boards look at all applicants pretty evenly. Your waiver gets you to the board, then the board looks at other things like your scores. That’s my best guess.
Keep at it and you’ll get there eventually. The wait is worth it!!!
