sTUPID qUESTIONS aBOUT ocs

Just a quick question for anyone in general. My OCS date is the 25 Jan class. I just heard from my recruiter that my clearance investigation was never initiated for some reason and that I will have to go get re-printed at MEPS next Tuesday. (1) Will the secret investigation be able to be done before I ship, and (2) does the investigation process have to be concluded prior to shipping or does it just need to be initiated? I’ve asked my recruiter and he’s going to get back to me, but my nerves have led me to trying to get all the info I can as my ship date is so close

Most applicants ship to OCS with a pending / adjudicated clearance.

Question ... if I have prescription glasses that I only wear when reading, but I didnt bring them to MEPS for everyday wear becasue I dont need them to "see" will I get in troble for withholding that information? I dont wear them everyday and I can definitely not bring them, but I appreciate them when reading? Especially with all of the studying and other things. I passed the MEPS screening witth no concerns.

Also doesnt help that im SNA. If no idea, I may cross post ..

No. But future reference I wouldn't make this a habit (intentionally/unintentionally withholding info bc you think it's "minor").

NAMI doesn’t care if you’ve previously worn glasses or why you’ve worn them.

They will measure your eyes. If you are in regs but need corrective lenses, they’ll give you corrective lenses.

You have to redo the medical screening at OCS in Indoc phase. If your vision was fine at MEPS it will be fine at OCS. Bring your reading glasses for studying after dinner chow because you’ll be studying a lot especially during JOC and SOC phase.

Does anyone know when we sound off Navy officer ranks at OCS, do we say: "one one-half-inch gold stripe" or "one half-inch gold stripe"? Or: "one one-quarter-inch gold stripe" or "one quarter-inch gold stripe"? Just want to make sure I'm practicing correctly.

The OCR will have the exact wording for the inspections. I also doubt any RDC or DI will knock you for saying either of those if they were “wrong.” If you’re studying this far in depth, you’re going to be fine at OCS. I would make sure you’re conditioned for running and calisthenics and just enjoy your free time now.

Incase you still care, it would be "one half-inch gold stripe" and "one quarter-inch gold stripe"
