1,001 questions about the ASTB (post your scores & ask your questions here!)

Good evening, I have been researching the forum and Reddit for awhile on this question. I would like to find a directive or document stating you can take the OAR and PBM/ANIT, etc. in 2 separate sessions within 30 days. I am currently active duty enlisted with a degree. The op tempo is quite busy at the moment so it would make sense to maximize my time by approaching the ASTB-E this way. Goal is to score 7/7/7 in order to meet the immediate selection criteria for SNA given I am not disqualified for anything else.

Thank you for your time, I apologize if this has already been asked.

Are you asking if you can take the OAR and ASTB separately? Unless recently policy has changed, which I have not heard or seen, you have to take the entire exam. No piecemeal is exams.

If you’re asking about the retest policy that is 30 days minimum.

That’s what my understanding was as well. I must have misunderstood a previous post. Thank you for the reply!

This is incorrect. I was able to take the OAR and then the PBM separately and merge them into one score.

I thought the AQR was affected partially by your OAR score though?
It takes both scores and 'merges' them, it still uses that original OAR score.
To break it down
1. Take the OAR
2. After taking the OAR, take the PBM. My recruiter had informed my proctor it would be a test merge so I wouldn't have to take the entire thing all over again.
3. The system takes your current OAR score and merges it with what you score on the PBM, giving you a final ASTB score.
