I am not. Graduated in 2023 with bachelors in Information technology. 3.5GPA
I would shoot for a retake in a couple of months since you have to wait anyways. If that was your first attempt you should be able to get all 7’s with a couple of months of preparation. Are you shooting for SNA or SNFO?

Id wait for some other people to weigh in but I think you will probably need to retest to be more competitive. You also have plenty of time so it makes sense to study and go for the immediate select.
If you are waiting six months then yeah I would retake later down the road. 5-6 months of practice is more than enough of practice to get a 7:7:7. A 5/7/6 also isn’t a horrible score for SNA, BUT that’s not a score I would sit on for six months if that makes sense

For anyone who has recently taken the OAR, what types of questions appeared most frequently in the Math section? Were there a lot of word problems, arithmetic, geometry (shapes), or something else?"

Very little word problems, I think I had one or two but very simple. I had a shadow question, interest rate question. Primarily arithmetic, volume. Imagine straight up math questions. "If this is that then, what is that?" kinda questions. Can get tricky but just set up the equations and you'll be fine.

This depends heavily on the adaptive nature of the test. Having surveyed a massive number of the posts here in my prep for the test and having taken it myself (68 OAR, although I think math was my weakest section) some posts on content are directly contradictory but likely were both true for the tests of both posters. For example I saw some posts saying that you needed to know matrix multiplication and exponents, and others saying they had gotten out of the test without having seen either - I got matrix multiplication and exponents, and judging on where they were during my test I got them because I had answered correctly on previous questions. You should do some reading of test post-mortems in this thread and prepare for most problem types you see mentioned across all of them instead of focusing on any one type so you can answer whatever the adaptive test throws at you.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your score? I've been studying for weeks, but what really scares me are the word problems and graphs. I'm wondering if they would pop up. I've got arithmatics down, it's just that specific category of math.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. By the way, did you use any specific apps to study? I was actually going to ask about the OAR Tutoring App. I just took the prediction exam on there and scored a 59.

For anyone who has used that app, do you think the prediction score is fairly accurate compared to the real OAR?

I did not use the OAR Tutoring App. I used the ASTB Prep App (the one that costs $30) and I found it extremely helpful. Worth the investment IMO.

What job are you applying for?
