He got ahold of me and said my package wasn't even reviewed just rejected immediately due to not having 2 waivers. I submitted hand written statements for the two waivers in question. Now I'm wondering if he even submitted the waivers or if they weren't followed up on. I asked multiple times if we were good to submit and we went line by line in the checklist. Apparently not...
The waivers will vary based on on what is needed, if the processors rejected due not having waivers your recruiter would or should have seen that, if it was rejected by the board he wouldn't know. NRC generally rubber stamps waivers so unless someone missed something big it could be the board saw waivers just rejected without reviewing.

Yea from what he told me the processors rejected it due to not having 2 waivers. He's reached out to the processor to verify if the 2 waivers were for the things I submitted statements for or if they were other waivers that were needed. But to my knowledge there were only 2 things I needed waivers for so that leads me to believe he possibly dropped the ball on getting them? Two waivers were 1) Overall GPA. I tried college 15 years ago and failed out horribly but when I finally went back I eventually graduated with 3.91 although my prior transcripts brought down my overall to a 2.94. 2) I had a prior DUI arrest almost 10 years ago but that was adjudicated through the Navy almost immediately because I owned up to it and told the truth about everything.

After being selected, can anyone speak to the next stages in the process? My recruiter said it would be a waiting game, but if anyone had the actual steps, I’d appreciate it.

I started medical and getting my package ready last week, how competitive do you guys think I'll be and do you think I'll make the August board?

OAR: 57
GPA: 3.19 - Don't graduate until December!
Degree: Statistics concentrating in Analytics
Professional Experience: Currently a mathematical statistician at the U.S Census Bureau with previous internships in the DoD for software dev

I'm also getting a few LORs from someone in senior management at the NRO, a COO of a defense contractor, and my current supervisors at the Census.

I picked 1880, 1820, and 1810 as my designators if that helps!

Looks like you are looking at AD slots, this thread is for DCO.

For anyone who’s been selected? How long until commission/get told the unit?
The next step after selection varies for everyone differently. I was commissioned within 30 days of selection (early fiscal driven). I've seen others go as long as 60-90 days (mid-fiscal selectees) within the IWC community. Your UIC will be disclosed once your NRC is determined and those vary as well based on local and needs of the community. Good luck and enjoy the journey.

Has anyone sworn in/commission or been gained yet? (That’s not already in)
I have not. I received my final select letter last week which states my recruiter should be receiving my commissioning documents within 10 days though. So hopefully commissioning this week or next.

Any advice on how to nail the OIC interview? My last panel gave me 10's across the board and the 1825 I interviewed with said positive things about me joining the community. My OIC graded me a 6 out 10 because I did not know what all the other designators in IWC community did. Other than 1825 which I am applying for he actually only asked me about Intel which my recruiter told me to apply for based on my education and certification but I got nailed for it because I didn't fully understand exactly what they do and he told me I was not a good fit.

I don't understand why recruiters tell you to apply for other designators especially if you really only have interest in a specific one. It was almost like I was setup to bomb the interview. He told me to not push my package forward after getting that score, and to wait for this upcoming board which I am planning to interview for in the next couple of weeks. If I do better this time around it will be my 3rd time applying.

I've found them to be nearly the same as the panel interviews, with conversation around why you're suitable for the community, how you're qualified, what capabilities you bring to the service/IWC, and a review of your experience leading.

You have 20 years in the Navy, right? If so, I am kind of surprised you wouldn’t know at least a 30-second sound byte on it for a DCO interview. But for next time, you can do some self-searching to find out what Navy Intel does. Some ideas:
- ask an IS or Intel O
- read Joint Pub 2-0
- read https://www.mynavyhr.navy.mil/Caree.../Active-OCM/Information-Warfare/Intelligence/
- read a memoir, e.g. “Knowing the enemy: an intelligence officer's memoir, 1966-2014” by CDR David Muller
- read unclassified intelligence reports that are posted on the websites of ONI, DIA, ODNI, etc.
- listen to podcast episodes with intelligence professional guests, e.g. Jocko, Sean Ryan Show, War College, War on the Rocks, Fighter Pilot Podcast, etc.
