dear god, that is terrifying.....

are people actually living like that? if that is a real letter, and not a parody, it answers a lot of questions about why we are so divided

i'm not sure who is more crazy, the mother who wrote the letter, or the person who responded to it and didn't tell the mother to chill the fuck out

You're completely missing my point. You said that unvaccinated folks should not be able to receive medical care because your daughters health should come before theirs.
And in a later post acknowledged that's an absurd position to drive home the point why mandatory vaccination is a smart public health policy. We aren't going to decide who does or doesn't get health care, other than assessing your ability to pay for it when it comes to chronic care and some surgeries.

We're only upset because this is being imposed on adults. In my location, if my kids didn't receive appropriate vaccines they couldn't attend public school. You can call that communist or totalitarianism or whatever, but it's a common practice.

And with respect to totalitarianism and govt regulations aimed squarely at protecting people from themselves, where's the line? All the laws you quoted are aimed at protecting other people, except for the seatbelt law, which imho is also a BS law. The only way the vax mandate would protect other people is if we mandate boosters every 3 months forever.
This is a silly slippery slope argument and your assertion that we need 3 month booster shots is patently false.

Edited to add one last thing. Comparing forcing people to inject something in their bodies to using tax write-offs to influence behavior is the most absurd comparison I've heard since the last time I read one of Brett's posts.
No one is forcing anyone to do anything. You can decide not to get the vaccine and face the consequences of that decision.

Apparently it’s six months

It's 6mos for being susceptible to symptomatic infection. However, protection against serious illness or death lasts much longer (a still to be determined time, but longer than 12 mo), and that's the important part.
Let’s see what Navy policy says. Because for the vast majority of the military serious illness and death aren’t a threat.

That's not what CAPT Honors thought. Laid down his command and lost 3 mo of Ao because the disease was a deadly threat to the crew. The Navy will continue to operate on that premise.

He was wrong. And that’s a really stupid example to use in 2021

If we're talking about a mandate for civilians, the important part is how long it reduces the risk of transmission. That's the whole argument for the mandate. And it only slows transmission for 3-6 months.
