Reminded of something that happened this morning?

What are you driving at, exactly? If you don’t like my post, then by all means, please use your super mod powers to censor it in some way.

But I fail to see how this post is in any way, shape, or form inappropriate. Fauci et al have been saying one thing for quite some time, and now he has flip flopped again, so I presented a video with clips saying it wouldn’t and couldn’t happen, and then a clip of him saying today he supports vaccine mandates for travel and that the Biden Administration is considering it. From a show that happened, again, this morning.
Some times I think you have a persecution complex. No one is out to get you least of all me. No, there is nothing worthy of deleting your post. I asked a simply question, rhetorical, yes. What happened this morning has not changed a thing. It is, in fact, the same old thing. That was why my post. Just you repeating the same old mantra. In your third paragraph you basically pointed that out.

Haven't you ever had a friend that latched onto something and never let it go? And just to make conversation, because they no longer seemed to pay attention to anything but this one subject/issue, they repeat the same thing over and over? I have found it most often with super sports fans. Bitching about how their team had ben treated by the officials, or the unfair league fine. Always attitude. Very predictable. Not enjoyable to listen to after the second or third time you have heard it. Eventually, you start to tune them out and bide your time until their obsession passes. Or maybe, if they are not the kind of friend you want to invest a lot of time in, you just ditch them. That my friend is about where you are. You and taxi and 2 or three others.

I am dying here. The only reason I come around is because I know guys here are following this issue more than me. I am looking for something new. Something that INFORMS me, or entertains me. Nothing about your post communicates any new information. It is background noise.

So you question the necessity of my posting something, and then when I question why you asked me that, you accuse ME of having a persecution complex? That’s some pretty awesome circular logic.

But if as a former airline pilot, you don’t think that this Administration’s LEAD medical advisor on Covid announcing that they’re “seriously considering” a vaccine mandate to travel on domestic flights newsworthy...I’d say our definitions of newsworthy are very different. Maybe you don’t care since you’re out of the industry. Maybe you don’t care because you don’t think this will have an impact on the interstate highway system and freely traveling between states. I do. So I posted about it. If you don’t like it, then don’t read it or respond to it. Ignore me. Don’t care.

I am quite sure ONLY you see that.

It has been signaled for quite some time. They are just amping it up to encourage the unvaxed to get off their asses. I believe it is also unlikely it will happen. If it does, wake me. THAT is the kind of news and comment I come here for.

Threatening to revoke people’s right to travel isn’t really “encouraging”. It’s coercing.

If by “signaled” you mean saying over and over again that it won’t happen, sure.

But hey, a deal is a deal. Bummed we won’t see you here until it happens for real! But you’ll definitely be the first to know.

All I am hearing, not just in the media, but from the usual suspects here, is about the mandatory vax for private companies with over 100 employees. It is not constitutional. It is a violation of my body. "My body my decision." ? A hell of a lot of anger over the mandated intrusion into your personal health, and for some much excitement for getting over the pandemic by this "courageous" presidential order. Left/Right, take your pick. Everyone glosses over a key element of the Executive Order. The title of the article above is absolutely true, but the body of the article buries the test option. From the White House:

The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is developing a rule that will require all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any workers who remain unvaccinated to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis before coming to work. OSHA will issue an Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) to implement this requirement. This requirement will impact over 80 million workers in private sector businesses with 100+ employees.

You have a way out. No one wants to talk about it. Just don't get the jab and pick your nose instead. The whole legality of this order may hinge on that phrase and yet it gets almost no coverage or debate. Certainly not in any headlines. Can't say I am enthusiastic about the order, even with a way out. But the bitching and media coverage is just plain disingenuous. You have a choice. But oh, what will we have to be angry over if we can just swab a nose to comply? Any of you dudes already peeing in a bottle or take a BA breath test as a condition of private sector employment? We have done that for decades without the threat of a pandemic. I don't want to hear any bitching from employees at Home Depot because they have to swab their noses. They should be happy they don't have to piss in a bottle under supervision to prove they are covid free.

“No one is banning you from ordering that Big Mac, but if your BMI is over 30 you’ll need a weekly cholesterol test to see if you’re allowed to get it”

I guess we wouldn’t blink an eye at that headline either?

THAT is the kind of news and comment I come here for.
Back so soon? Nothing’s really changed...I promised you you’d be the first to know.

I think teen pregnancy is a health hazard to society. An epidemic if you will. I think we should mandate birth control to all unwed women!

What changed was someone, me, finally tried to bring some sanity to the DOL debate. I haven't seen you, pope of the Covid thread, mention that the DOL proposal did not require any of those that come under the new reg to get the jab. That was news no one has gotten in this thread. In the process I made it clear your posted piece from the Secretary of Commerce was not gas lighting at all.

“Workers in the private sector who do not wish to receive a vaccination can always sequester themselves at home, Ruhle said.

“There’s always been a choice: If you do not want to get vaccinated, you can work from home. You can homeschool your children. You can shop online,” Ruhle said. “If you didn’t want to vaccinate your kids, you can homeschool, and people have done it for years.””

Where does she mention the “get swabbed weekly instead of homeschooling” option? OSHA controls the Department of Education now too? Funny, I didn’t hear Biden mention schools in his mandate. The whole thesis of this article is that “no one is forcing you to get vaccinated” and then being prevented from participating as a fully functioning member of society is not a choice compatible with American freedoms. Does that not sound like an abusive, one-sided relationship between State and Citizen?

See, it is all about the delivery. Your comment is simplistic and not a true analogy for a few reason. I don't think you believe covid is not contagious. It is proven. Having high cholesterol is not contagious. Franks post re unwed teen mothers also ignored the contagious angle, but was delivered much better. In my opinion you barley got to first base with the Big Mac comment. Franks was a solid stand up triple.

She poorly meant to convey that people had choice. That is all. Very inarticulate or very horribly edited.

It might seem abusive if it was the case. She absolutely communicated poorly. Big whoop. Trump anyone? All the government comms out there and you are going all in on this report of a longer interview? Hell, she isn't even the Secretary of Labor. You know, there is official written information from DOL and the White House?
*“Pope” should be capitalized, by the way.
No offence meant, your Eminence. :)

Gas Lighting requires emotional abuse. Do you feel emotional abuse? Can I get someone for you to talk to?

I’ll try harder.. Give me a couple days (I’m not flying this week) and I bet I can come up with something better…
