Aren't leaky vaccines an evolutionary driver of new variants? Unless we crank out 14 billion doses and hold everyone down for their ouchie, this thing isn't going anywhere. And even that probably won't work, considering we've only ever actually eradicated one virus.

Vaccinated people are also getting infected and transmitting the virus
But less than the anti-vaxxers and free riders. The R0 is less for the vaxxed.
You were wrong saying masks will “end this”.
It absolutely would have. All those ICUs and morgues would have been empty of Covid patients and hospitalizations in the "who cares" range, but for the anti-vaxxers and Free Riders filling them up as they catch it.

Skin in the game. Action talks and bullshit walks.

It will be because of the "successful" gain of function experiment being conducted by the unvaccinated, resulting in a new variant. At which time we'll be back to square one and need a new vaccine.
Funny how we are completely dismissive of the gain of function experiment conducted by the lab in Wuhan, funded by the NIH and known by Dr. Fauci beforehand. There is increasing evidence, and concern, that maybe we should waited a bit before forcing a vaccine upon society. Full disclosure - I received the Pfizer vaccine, mostly because of the constraints of my job and requirement to travel around the world, but that doesn't mean the vaccine(s) are a panacea for this virus . . .

31938Just laughable you’re still so unapologetically dead ass wrong. Nothing can free you from your mask cult. Don’t drink the kool aide. (Because you’d have to lower your mask.

Antidotal for you so take it or leave it. My wife is an ICU nurse and was predominately in COVID positive rooms. In her ICU they were slammed, every bed full, all the time since spring of 2020. Once we PCS'd to our new location, which has a lot less COVID, typically her unit has only had two patients at any given time with COVID. Since this latest surge her unit now has 10 COVID positive patients in an 8 bed ICU. She has seen one patient this entire time who has had the vaccine, however that patient also had an autoimmune disorder as well.

The story she told me that I liked the most was of this guy who came in to the ER, with all the classic COVID symptoms but refused to get the test because "COVID isn't real." Dude was an anti masker, anti vaxer, you name it. Well, eventually he let somebody give him the test, was positive, and of course didn't believe the test. Within a day of that, he is in the ICU, a few days laters, he was on a vent and then died about a week later. The family, also anti masks, anti vaccine, etc., still didn't believe the doctors or the nurses as to why this dude died.

The current crop of patients in her ICU are mostly of that mindset. Masks don't work, vaccines don't work. While my wife has both empathy and sympathy for people like this, I feel like it's naturally thinning the herd.

Here’s an exercise in logic.. So along comes the vaccine and now we have variants. Before that it was stable. They told us this was gonna be the first coronavirus we could beat cause it hasn’t mutated and was predictable. So anybody remember the first variants? South Africa and Brazil were the first. Any guesses where phase 2 trails took place? So maybe just maybe… It isn’t those unvaccinated that are making this worse and causing the variants but the vaccinated? But Fauci and CDC and Big Pharma would never say such a thing so it must not be true….

Masks do not work. That’s not even in question. They never worked. It’s a “at least we’re doing something” pacifier.

As for the vaccines, yes they work well at preventing severe disease, and people should make appropriate risk decisions. I feel bad for doctors and nurses but for anecdotes and people going to the ICU…

Yes, masks do significantly reduce transmission. The CDC says so. At any rate, your statement,"Masks do not work. That’s not even in question." is certainly open for question if the CDC says you're wrong. I'll believe them before the usual suspects in the media who helped foment the antimask/antivax idiocy in the first place.

COVID is real. And it really likely came from a lab in China. That Dr Fauci definitely knew was doing bat coronavirus research. Because he helped fund it.

The CDC flat out lies when it chooses to. The data has shown over and over that masks are pointless theater. The CDC knew masks were pointless until they felt like they needed to “do something”.
