Do you happen to remember your multiplier after contacts? I just finished the 4200 block and am watching my multiplier torpedo into the depths of oblivion as the mif slowly rises from 2/3 to 3/4. It's pretty fun getting destroyed on a daily basis. Now I get to sulk back to my Onwing after flying with 2 of the 4 horsemen in the 4200 block.

Personal recommendation not to be that guy going around asking what people’s contact multiplier is/was, I still remember those people a while later and turns out all of them are still annoying

i mean god forbid an anonymous person on the internet asks another anonymous person on the internet a question about grades.
I get where you’re coming from though, I do. I am genuinely curious because I like to see the trends. Clearly this guy did well, selected his first choice, and is in the jet pipeline. I want helos anyways, and I’m not sure when you went through but people aren’t really secretive about their grades. Everyone here is pretty open about their progress and stuff, I just like to see what what separates jet grades now vs then.

No offense man, but the only thing you can control is how you perform. It doesn't matter what other people's multipliers are or what NSS people in the past selected with.

It sucks to hear, but selection is a total crap shoot a lot of the time. It is best to just try not to worry about it.

You can't control who else is going to select your week, you can't control which pipeline is going to be backed up when you select, you can't control which follow on training aircraft is going to have maintaince issues. Just try your best and have fun, the T-6 is a blast to fly.

Yeah dawg just trying to save you from being one of those guys walking around the sim building in Corpus or Whiting haggling people about their contact multiplier

Isn’t one of the plus side of wanting helos first that you don’t have to worry about your grades as much? I say that strictly in the sense that, by the numbers, most people get helos anyway (for Marines helos are >50% of our aviation). I also don’t think there’s a minimum cutoff for helos like there is for jets, so why not take advantage and not care?

I checked into Kingsville as well this week. Enjoying my 2 week ROM vacation.

I took much pleasure in having roommates who were USCG or SNFOs in primary/API, because of how much they didn't care about NSS or multipliers. They're just glad to be here and not on a cutter. The SNFOs were too tall for jets.

I think people misunderstood why I asked (or just have a problem with the question regardless). I genuinely find the whole NSS calculation fascinating. I understand that if you’re doing everything you can, it doesn’t matter. Most weeks someone that selected that week will throw their stage scores in the group chat with their NSS as a baseline for the people in the program at the time. I find it interesting because as we all know, the NSS changes daily. The multipliers don’t because it’s just your scores above the MIF. The reason I was curious is because I thought it would be interesting to see if there was any discernible or significant difference.

Also as far as not caring since I already want helos anyways... I’m still trying to be a good pilot and that attitude is dumb :p

This is literally the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Stop being so passive aggressive about comparing yourself to others and just learn how to fucking fly.

If everyone is so open about their grades then why ask here in the first place? Fucking New Guy move right there bud.

I wasn't trying to be passive aggressive. I'm sorry you interpreted it that way. Also damn man, welcome to the internet. If that's the dumbest shit you've ever heard, I'll be honest you've been pretty lucky so far. But I'm glad I'm #1 on someone's list.

might set yourself on a dangerous road. 1) you shouldn't want to be ok being a useless below average shitbag (or even average, shitbag); and 2) you don't leave yourself much margin for error if you're just skating by. 'ima just chill and take in the sights' can quickly turn into you being redes'd into some job you didn't ever want to do. nobody is going to go to bat for the guy that isn't putting himself into performing. plus as well. don't you want to have a say in what you get? where you go? you aren't necessarily guaranteed helos (could easily get tilt) and when you're in the HTs you might want to do well and get the type of helo and location you want.
