You think McConnell's signaling that he is pleased with impeachment and open to conviction, prior to impeachment proceedings, had no impact on anything? This, the day before the vote...big time signaling.

"Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader, has told associates that he believes President Trump committed impeachable offenses and that he is pleased that Democrats are moving to impeach him"

Further, you think POTUS explicitly denouncing violent protests (finally) was coincidental with McConnell now holding conviction over his head? He has the ability to call the Senate back tomorrow. Or not.
“Finally”

It’s almost like you don’t remember what you’ve said on this very thread.

The rioters got a lot farther inside the building than they should have. The Pentagon has had an attempted unlawful entry in the past decade, and that person was shot outside. The Capitol Police could have shot any rioters attempting unlawful entry at an external entry. The fact that they allowed themselves to be pushed far to an interior doorway shows some good restraint on their part.

The Pentagon Police, sorry...the Pentagon Force Protection Agency...was actually shooting back. Those funny looking barriers finally paid off for them.

She was shot by a Capitol Police officer. And I understand your analogy, but there was no literal red line, and I feel like there’s just a lot of shoulder shrugging instead of objective analysis. I understand some people might take into account the victim’s crime when they pass their judgement, but considering the recent blowback following police shootings of unarmed people, I wish there was more out there about this.
Air force has specified areas with a red painted line as a perimeter where use of force is authorized if said perimeter is violated. Federal level executive protection can and will use deadly force to protect their assets. She in effect violated the red line. Its cold blooded but their job is to do away with any threat to the person(s) they are protecting.

News agencies are reporting Rep. Greene (R-GA) is already planning to introduce a motion to impeach Biden after his first full day in office.

I guess this is the "new normal". Am I the only one tired of this?

It appears that nobody gave all these freshmen the "FNG" talk. Doubly so for those of them (such as her) that have zero credentials to begin with.

Here's his statement yesterday. Show me something that is within a hundred miles of it before or during the riots.

I literally already did that after you repeatedly (falsely) claimed he made no statements calling for peace or de-escalation. Like water off a duck’s back for you though, just right back at it.

I don't understand the point of that. How do they expect it to pass even with the Republican seat gains? They're still ten seats short of a majority.

It'll go nowhere, it's just great PR for the new Representative much like countless bills that get introduced and soemtimes cause controversy but ultimately aren't anythign more than PR exercises.

I've been thinking the same thing... actually since AOC checked in with her mouth running at MRT.

One somewhat surprising thing to me over the summer and fall was just how quiet she and some of her more like-minded colleagues were, with President-elect Biden getting very little flak at all from the more notable members of the left wing of the party. It was a pretty decent show of discipline for a party that isn't exactly known for it.

That's what we call grandstanding.

AOC's brain may be more broken than my own.
Jury is still out. I'm still reeling from your impeachment propaganda post. I feel like you owe everyone an apology for that. :)
