Interesting you know what pace the 5k is usually run at?
No. This is from the OCS guide.
OCS Physical Fitness Program
During the first week of training, you will commence a regimen of daily physical training. Candidates must be able to perform aerobic activity, muscular strength exercises, and endurance exercises. Aerobic activity will include running approximately 3 miles, three times per week on a track or road surfaces, and two days of strength training through HIIT exercises. Successful candidates arrive at OCS already able to run 3 miles a day (15 miles a week) and able to complete 30 minutes of aerobic exercise in a session.
During Week-2, candidates will complete the Third Class swim qualification. This qualification includes the following:
  • Deep water jump
  • 50-yard swim (any stroke)
  • minute prone float (face in water)
  • Shirt and trouser inflation
Candidates who are unable to complete the Third Class Swim qualification will be sent to remedial swim training. If candidates are unable to pass the Third Class Swim qualification by Week-9, they will be removed from their class for further remediation in Remedial Holding Company.

Your package wouldn’t make it to the board if your age waiver was not approved yet. They probably didn’t send your recruiter that your waiver was approved, or your recruiter either missed the email or didn’t tell you it was approved.
It seems that my age waiver still needs to be approved based on what I was told.

That's weird, my package didn't make it to the August 2020 board because of my age waiver was still pending CNP's approval. I found it weird that your package made it to the board, got selected and still needs waiver approval. How old are you?

Now only if my command can figure out the results. Makes me laugh when we can have this forum and know before the commands do.

Maybe because they already know that you know you were selected, they never notified you of the results when they got an email and they are just trying to figure out when they can release you?

Possibly, ill have to talk to them tomorrow letting them know its on my BOL, so we can discuss a timeline.

Does anyone know if planks will be counted for this years cycles? Heard it was a test run year

I can run 1.5 pretty comfortable, maybe I should start doing 3 miles.
I’m the opposite. I’m an endurance runner so I’m a little worried about getting a good time. I know I can pass the satisfactory and good scores.

Does anyone have tips to get a faster run time? I’m thinking of adding sprints to my workouts.

As long as you pass the PRT you will be fine, obviously do your best but there is no reason to stress about it. You will get yelled at no matter what, that’s the instructors job to yell at you for the smallest things just to weed out the weak minded or people who can’t operate under stress.
