I wanted to put more options but I am limited to 10. Yes, I could guess what your favorite a/c is :) Some others that I wanted to include are A-6, F-4, EA-6B, and many more.

Without a doubt my dream job in Naval Aviation would have to been transported back in time and be a VA A-1H Spad driver in the 1960's. I had built every platic model known of the A-1 series as a young fledgling :) Read Rosario "Zip" Rausa by the time I was 11.

In case someone else is looking for book you are talking about, I think you mean Rosario "Zip" Rausa who is also editor of Wings of Gold (also has a son "Zeno" who flew Super Hornet) and authored a book on the Skyraider (he also talks to Skyraider in his own bio). If you are a real Skyraider officienado though, "My Secret War", the story of a young USAF "Sandy" flyer over Thailand and Laos is top notch.

So I'm the only one voting for the sexy, mature lady... The mighty CH-46E Battle Phrog. A bird with an incredibly proud legacy.

Guess the venerable UH-1x Huey didn't make the cut...

The Huey is getting a mega-upgrade, and the -46's are getting phased out...but still no love. I see how it is.

(You know, the Huey is what many people see when they hear the word "Vietnam"...just something to think about...is all I'm saying...)

I like 'em all, but if I had to pick one, it would definitely be the F-14 Tomcat.

Now, my favorite AF bird of all time would have to be either the B-17 or the SR-71.
