Dear mr mod guy, could you delete the previous two posts until such time I can unfoul settings so folks can see the nutty assed German 53 pilot scaring the crap out of FOB residents and not-so-peaceful Pashtuns alike?

Looked them up on Youtube and it would seem the German 53 pilots are a little crazy. In the meantime, here's some cool footage of them in the 'Stan including some impressive low level-

Imagine being in that car at 3:14? The seats are probably going to need some new upholstery...

Some longer versions-

OK - Forgive the poor quality. Another print scan for me but it's such a rare bird I thought it worth posting.

NOT a 135 it's actually an EC-24, a Douglas DC-8 converted to do EW support for FEWSG/FTRG/FIWC (the stationary has changed many times for that org over the years) - The EC-24 carried some neat stuff including the jamming package from an EKA-3 and a chaff cutter that could lay miles and miles of the stuff. We would go out with them with an AST-6 pod on the Prowler to simulate ASM's while they would play the shooter. They'd often be down at 200' with that beast. The went by the callsign NUCAR and were flown by crusty old gents on contract from Ti IIRC. I don't know but it's likely this shot was W-291 or PROA.

My dayshift counterpart flew on those as a maintainer / contractor back in the early 90s. I believe it was either E-Systems or Chrysler Technologies Airborne Systems that had the contract to fly and maintain it. He has said it was a good gig while it lasted.

Yep - I believe you're right about Chrysler Technologies - seem to remember that on a patch they had. I do recall they flew them out of Texas (Waco maybe?)
