It is smoke from an F-4 that launched earlier...although we did have a couple of guys who smoked, but they usually waited till at least they were cleaned up to light up.;)
I used to smoke when I flew F-4s, but I fortunately quit.

Unfortunately, my dog hasn't yet quit. :D

Kennedy, Connie and Big E are the last of the bubble-less flight decks...truly a passing era...

Kennedy (CV-67) is decommissioned and "laid up in ordinary" at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Constellation (CV-64) is decommissioned and "laid up in ordinary" in Bremerton, WA.

The Big E is still doing her duty. She will be the "senior" carrier here soon too, I imagine. While the Kitty Hawk is still in commission, it is anybody's guess as to how much longer, now that Bush Sr. has been commissioned.
