The most recent chinese knock off flight suit Istolewas issued had the straps right around high nipple level. Real fucking helpful. I traded it for a 44R even though in every other bag a 44S is the right size.

i remember comming back to beaufort in a phantom one time around '71 . we came up on tower freq just as the blues were also checking in. my stick knew the lead blue at the time,
asked if we could join on them for the break. we did. very cool. them in their squeaky clean show birds and us, typically unwashed with a hydralic fluid contrail.
