NEWS Seahawks Sink Houthi Boats

Spekkio

He bowls overhand.
What tank (s) did you father in law serve in? M60?
A T-55. He was drafted into the Yom Kippur War after his older brother fled - the Egyptians required the eldest man to serve in the military. As a Christian (with the associated tattoos to mark him), he was more afraid of being killed by his Muslim "brothers in arms" than the Israelis. Luckily, they didn't frag him... but he's a charismatic person, so maybe not luck...

He was a maintainer, which means he wasn't in the tank when it got blown up by the IDF, albeit he had his fair share of attacks before that. After the war, he used all the money he had (a few hundred British pounds) to trade a ticket to the UK, where he worked side jobs and met his wife. They immigrated to the US, where he used his skills as a tank maintener to fix someone's car, who knew a guy who got him an upstanding job that allowed him to put three daughters through college. He's now retired with a NYC pension worth $90k a year.

Not Arnold Schwarzenegger level, but not too shabby.

Interestingly, he is upset that we're not aggressive enough toward Iran / Hamas / Yemen / Egypt.

Great to hear his life turned out well. Yes, from what I've read about T--55s, they were NOT a tank you wanted to serve in.

He sounds like a pretty amazing dude. Has he seen Valley of Tears on HBO? He might like it - or it might be too close to home.

It's hard to be 100% perfect 100% of the time. The Houthis have to be hoping that they can land a single punch, and then let USA politics take over.

Hopefully the SWO tactics community is building a very comprehensive playbook of lessons learned and taking an agile approach and giving a refresh to what many of us perceive as a community that does not embrace real world innovation and learning.

I know a lot of you guys like throwing darts at Ward - but his channel numbers are growing... impressive. And he clearly is seen as a credible actor with his access to Flags - in this case CNAL aboard CVN-78. Good interview I thought.

Your thoughts?
