OK, you're on. There's a newer Cretin's over on 16th. I've only been to the old one several years ago. "Rick" sounds right, although I wouldn't bet my next paycheck on it... Wait... I'm retired, I don't get a paycheck anymore:(.

The current proprietor at the OHT is "Steve". A great guy who did not throw me out even after I programmed the juke box to play old-school country music all night...

I ate at the new one the first night home from cruise. Same chow. Cleaner more up-to-date looking atmosphere. My wife likes it much better. I liked the old school place where you basically entered through the kitchen. It's in a much better location now.

Why does the Air Force place a lot of importance on having flight hours prior to trying to get a pilot slot, where as the Navy and Marines don't seem to mind an applicant having no flight time?

SSC: Coastal Submarine (Diesel-Electric Power), over 150 tons

 You can use Google, good for you.

But seriously, good job. That's what we are looking for around here, people who put effort into finding answers for themselves.

Just as an additional bit of info. SSC when related to ship types is just what you listed. However, I think the SSC you might have seen around here recently stands for
Sea Surface Control, which is a kind of mission.

Agree, but I believe SSC used to mean "Surface Search Coordination"

I'm not sure anyone actually knows what it really stands for. I've heard several different versions. I remember trying to look it up in the TACMAN and it didn't even have it in there by that name even though it's what we did 95% of the time.

But what does DCM stand for? I never did find it.

There are so many acronyms out there that you'll have to be more specific as to where you got it in the first place other than out of thin air. You've given us nothing as far as terms of reference.
