Historical precedent? I'm drawing a blank... (not counting post-coup forcible reinstatements).
His reinstatement is based on a vote by the Honduran congress and the supreme court which if we all remember were the ones who voted to throw his commie ass out of office in the first place.

in this article they say that "Under the agreement, the issue has been left up to the Honduran Congress to determine "when, if and how" Zelaya returns to office, Shannon said."
Even in the NYT article posted it says that it's "pending legislative approval".
So I wouldn't hold my breath on him coming back to office.
