I once heard tale of a 5 bird P-3C formation that consisted of about 2 miles of echelon. The flight was put together solely because they had 5 birds up at one time and thought it would be cool just because they could.

I was in a 3 plane P-3 formation in which 2 of the aircraft shot rockets while the other took pics. Groovy. :D P-3 parade looks more like CS. We also did a 3x Prowler and 3x P-3 combined form up here a few years back for the NUW airshow, but it was really more like two separate formations flying together with an altitude separation.

I remember my first time in a Ready Room afloat and hearing the Hummer in the Hummer hole overheard and thinking "they got that right" and then an S-3 taxiied over top of the Ready Room and I realized "they got that one right, too"

^I thought the same thing the first time I heard an S-3 referred to as a Hoover... which was a few years after I'd heard one taxi the first time.

MB begins a new chapter in the legend, life at VT-120 (bonus: Bunk E-2 FO rant)

It has Captain Stubing written all over it. The shorts are bad too.

When I was at VAW-120, one of the studs wore this uniform to the Hawkeye/Greyhound Ball. He got shit on by a few who didn't know it was a uniform. I didn't know it was a uniform either, thought it was entertaining.

I'm their worst nightmare. Terminal O4 (if that) with a penchant for doing out of the box stuff. :icon_smil

I almost wish I was there to see that...almost :) My time as a stud and IP at 120 was absolutely the worst time in the Navy. I think my time in Iraq will be better. If you haven't seen it yet, give it time, you will. Maybe Dwoo can change things however.

It is interesting to here guys say that - while I had a blast as a CAT I, my time as an FRS instructor (HC-3) was easily my crappiest tour. I'm curious how many other communities found FRS IP tours to be a pain....?
