It's the leather jacket! Gotta be!

Yeah, chicks seemed to be impressed by aviators period (and maybe military period) and don't care wtf you fly.
There are definitely the jet groupies, helo groupies, etc. though.

Gotta be the leather jacket, that's why USAF brought back after 45 years hiatus in 1987...of course they made it look like a corporate uniform

I've yet to meet a girl who was interested/impressed with my fascination with/knowledge of aircraft... except that fat chick who wanted to go Air Force... <shudder>

No no, they're impressed with the pilot and the image, not the aviation geek.

Oh yeah, it's true, it's true! Australia maybe...but then again, just being an American sailor seems to work. How about Longapo PI....way back when...well, again, just being an American (with money worked)....Fleet Week on a carrier in New York or Boston....hmmm, just being in whites was magic

NATOPS is a big blue sleeping pill (at least it used to be baby blue)
NATOPS is written in blood (at least the boldface that gets added after MIRs)

Speaking of "lives"....one saying that could be misinterpreted is:

"It's Better to Die than look bad"

So you try a 600kt break and gear is still coming at the ninety and you're overshooting like a big dog with no hope of salvaging the approach...so that means you go ahead and induce an approach turn stall and buy the farm?

Nah, that's when you have a sudden "comm failure" or "gear indicator failure" (or something similar) ;) and have to spin a few times to "fix" the problem.

Then again, if I'm doing ANYTHING at 600 KTS, looking bad is the least of my concerns.

That's why we carry sidearms :devil_125

(j/k...You know I would never condone that kind of behavior. And, just to prove it, I'll never fly a single-seat aircraft for Uncle Sam. I made that choice, for that reason. That's how dedicated I am to obeying the rules. See the lengths I go through for 'youse' guys?)
