There are plenty of pictures from the 40s/50s of pilots in greens with ribbons. Certainly in its final iteration from the 60s to death, it was a working uniform with no ribbons, but historically it had some more fluidity.

That said, I hate the look of a service dress version of aviation greens in these photos. I’d love to have a modular working uniform that isn’t nwus (navy in green camo is dumb) or flight suit. But why would I want yet another service or higher uniform?

They should make the camo blue to reflect naval heritage.

I should clarify, I don’t want any camo. If I have to wear camo, it definitely shouldn’t be green.

Agree on the ribbons, but my father tore his sewed on wings off his jacket before he tossed it, I think hey look cool.
