@KbayDog thank you, my buddy sent me that not sure what base it comes out of though
I expect the Maintenance write-off might have been: "Name removed." 
Eh. To much work. If it was a new guy, just figure he got Rochambeaued by the Aircraft DivO and call it good.I see a new callsign in someone's future...

Had to Google the term...but now I get it and heartily agree.

I have to admit that I painted the drop tanks on our helicopter detachment's helo and spelled the ship's name wrong....Robert E. Perry vs. Robert E. Peary...I was an aircrewman and our Det chief thought it would be a good idea for the two of us to learn maintenance duties...I volunteered to OJT painting...oh well...
How far did the first crew make it before they realized that the drop tanks were painted on?
One of the best writeups that I ever saw was on a TF-9 -- " This aircraft makes night noises in the daytime."

Night noises are things you only hear at night. Odd engine sounds, structural creaking, etc.

It's a mental thing associated with "black air"...various strange noises generated between pilot's ears. Known to drive T/Ss loco!
