Headed down to the Pima Air Museum tomorrow. Their B-58 is pretty nice. Unfortunately, unless it was moved, it is outside and not fully restored. http://www.pimaair.org/aircraft-by-name/item/convair-b-58a-hustler It is a awesome aircraft. Our mission, however, is ultra subsonic. Four of us on an adult aviation porn road trip. Stop by KCGZ to look at a disassembled WWII Quonset style hangar donated to the AZ Chapter of the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation, then down to Tucson to see if the Pima Air Museum has something in the back 40 with diamondbacks crawling through it we could use they aren't. The highlight of the day is kicking the skids of some helos next door at David Monthan. Hoping for good hunting. Aircraft, not rattlers.

Done that twice. Ended badly for the snake that decided to surprise me on a trap and skeet range.Careful with the rattlesnakes - never fun walking up on one...
Love it there! I spent a month and a half at Marana/Pinal just up the road. Strange to have 747s on downwind in the pattern. Went to Pima several times and did the Davis Monthan tour. FWIW the picture I posted earlier up the thread was from Davis Monthan. And a Jeep Wrangler rental car for the win!Headed down to the Pima Air Museum tomorrow. Their B-58 is pretty nice. There was quite a bit of politics involved there. They were going to make the F-20 in Singapore in the late 80's, but, it got shot down because the State Department said that the technology to make the wingbox was not allowed to leave the country. I had signed a contract to go over and work on them in 1988 but, the contract was cancelled.F-20. With all the F-5s and T-38s across the globe I could not believe none of them sold. Once the USA passed no other foreign operator wanted to take it on. Too bad. It had a niche.
Eject!...Eject!............Slurrrrrpppp!That intake placement always creeped the hell out of me.
