2nd MEPS related ?: I am supposed to be scheduled for a secondary consult with an ortho surgeon and they gave me a 2 week timeframe, going on 2 months still haven't heard. is there anything I can do to facilitate? my OR says it's in the processors hands but I feel like the squeaky wheel gets the grease..

I think they send the exact date a month out. That way everyone has a week to meet the three week deadline.

That's usually what happens. So around January recruiters should be getting an email with exact deadlines to submit to NRC to make it to the next board.

@RUFiO181 ,
Sir, I had a question i thought you could answer. I received a call from my OR today saying my region (STL) has filled all their pilot slots for the year. So i would either have to either get a waiver, or wait until next FY to get a pilot board. We moved SNA to my second choice but said that without the waiver they will likely not even let my packet go on the pilot board. I'm disappointed because becoming a pilot was a dream of mine from little on, but am willing to set that aside in order to become a Navy Officer. If i get selected, is there any chance of swapping from NFO to pilot at OCS? He did point me to the NFO-Pilot transition after my first tour.

Bottom line i had to make a quick, possible career changing choice without all the information(welcome to military leadership). Wanted to get this out there so that maybe others in the future could make better informed decisions. Thanks ahead of time for any information.

Word around the scuttlebutt says Pilot is at 100% for this board, so they are picking up NFO... But it is just that for now. Scuttlebutt.

With those scores I'm 99% sure you'll be selected, and you're only 22 so you've got plenty of time. If this turns out to be true, I'd wait so that you can apply for SNA. You really don't have anything to lose in your situation.

I have never heard of a "waiver" needing to submit an application because the NRD made goal for Pilot/whichever program, at least for NRD we don't do that. He could be correct and the NRD St. Louis has a certain policy, while at the same time trying to have you apply for another program.

NRD STL was one of the NRD's that routinely jerked around their OR's and applicants when I was an OR, wouldn't surprise me if the practice continues.
