July 2013 and/or Rolling Board

Tiffany Murphy

Action is the foundational key to all success.
They held the board last week and are not going to release any of the SWO results until the meet the quota that is set for this cycle of the 15Jul board. My CO called me a little while ago to tell me that I was NS for SNA and that they started the SWO board again today. Hopefully something good will come out of it.

I wonder if that means we will be waiting another week or 2 for the SWO results? Either way I am not going to complain about them picking up more candidates!

Congrats to all you that made it for SNA and NFO!

Congrats to everybody who made it this round. It's been a long road to this point, but don't forget how much we have head of us. It's time to focus more than ever

Found out this afternoon that I am Pro-Rec Y for SNFO! I think that I might just have the lowest GPA and Pro-Rec that I have heard about so far. Congratulations to everyone else who was selected and don't lose hope if you didn't!

Funny story: my OR called and told me that I wasn't selected and just as I was really coming to grips with the news, he called again and told me that he read the results wrong and hadn't seen my name. Talk about having your emotions played with!

Just a recap of my stats:
I am a 26 year old male, currently in the Navy Reserve as a Religious Program Specialist 1st Class. I am on Active Duty for Operational Support in New Hampshire. I have been in the Navy for just over 4 years. my most recent evals are: E-6: N/A E-5: EP, EP, EP, MP

I graduated from Saint Anselm College in 2008 with a BA in Theology and a GPA of 2.6.

ASTB: 7/8/7 58

I went up on the USMC OCC March board this year and was told that I was selected to go to OCS on a reserve contract. I was then called a few days later and was informed that I actually wasn't selected and that it was a clerical error. I have seen the flip side and boy you are on the right side of that outcome. Nice job.

the results are sent out to the NRD's via email at the same time, so if you haven't heard yet it is either because they are slow or some other not good reason.

Would I be able to find out if I got selected from a different OR in the same office? My recruiter hasn't gotten back to me in a while.

What happens from here? How long might we wait for OCS dates and how long might we wait to actually ship? What's the average? I have all medical done to include a flight physical. I'm ready to go.

How did you already get a flight physical?? My understanding is they do that sometime at OCS or just before API.

Congrats! My OR tried messing with me when he called.

[note: I had a ticket in the past for street pollution]
He calls, we do are usually chit-chat back and forth. Then he asks me if I know what a FOD Walkdown is. So, I say yes and describe it. I'm kinda confused at this point, where is this going? He comes back with, "Knowing that, do you think that a street pollution ticket may not look too good in your position?" I reply "why do you say that?" Just kidding, you got pro-rec'd for SNA&NFO
