What people should take from this, aside from a good laugh, is that in parts of "the rest of the world" they feel that they are experts on the US.

I just sat next to a German guy on a flight from London to Munich who spent the entire flight talking about what was wrong with the US Government....yet, when I asked him about how his Parliament system worked in Germany, he couldn't really explain it well.

In other parts of the world that are NOT only bordered by two neighbor countries and two oceans, they don't understand the unique nature of the US both politically and culturally.

So, this kind of scenario probably makes sense to someone who has grown up in a country that is bordered by 10 other countries, all of which are completely different in culture, language, ethnicity, etc.

The flip side is that as soon as an outsider screws with one of the family, they all turn on the outsider. Don't know how true it really is, but was an interesting thought.

The town that I grew up in had 1700 people in it. If you collected all of the guns and ammo from the people that live there, it would dwarf that cache. I am willing to bet that the Texas boys are better shots too.

I know where you're coming from...since i work in the south I see more alcoholic Mexicans than folks with gun racks in their rear windows...still to this day i'd rather see the occasional rifle in the back and commend the man with a willingness to protect himself than a drunk illegal who'll be out with a personal recognizance bond the next morning and take off to Mexico.

45-55% chance the "disintegration will occur." To even respond to this is silly, but right now I got some time on my hands so why not.

So what are the facts and the hard numbers this guy is plugging in to his "disintegration probability equation" that spits out this 45-55% number? The number of republicans divided by the number of liberals multiplied by the number of guns owned per person in 2005 divided by the distance they live from Mexico, times 100? + or - 5%, because the equation isn't perfect of course..

Anyway, somewhat entertaining nonetheless..

Been a reader since the beginning. Whittle has an unfortunate tendency to go after straw men and caricature the left instead of responding to them. I suppose working in the entertainment business, he sees the worst of the loony left. But when he's on, he's absolutely on fire. TRINITY is the best manifesto of conservative principles I have seen in a while.

Well we do have multiple cultures living inside the U.S., but they are not geographically linked, and most members of them pass members of the other cultures on the streets every day of the week. Further political division is likely, but a "disintegration" is not.
