Thanks Ousooner I appreciate the moral boost.

No problem man...in the future. I think what Spekkio meant. The forums are not "real time" chat or instant messenger. It takes time to respond to posts especially people who have real jobs. :)

There is an FAQ that you can read about this site and I think it does talk about starting multiple threads about the same topic. It is not to stop people like you, but it is to stop people from spamming useless information and causing us to have to wade through the bull shit on the forum.

Next time, if you decide to start a thread to answer a question that you have not found the answer to, just leave it a little while and someone will surely come in to answer it.

ALSO, there are recruiters on this site, and former recruiters. The more you hang around the site the sooner you will realize who they are. If it is an urgent question and you need an immediate answer, maybe PMing them or something would be the appropriate route. There are many avenues to explore. OR, the most efficient route, just calling your Officer Recruiter. He/She gets paid to answer these questions and get people into the fleet.

Haha lastly, if you think Spekkio's comment was rude.... welcome to AirWarriors. :D I'm not in the Navy, but I stayed in a Holiday Inn Select, and I can assure you, a thick skin and a good sense of humor will serve you well down the road.

Thanks man your right, but you know how it is when get excited about something especially when its your dream you'll do anything to get those questions answered. Also when you've been told as many times as I have that you've been rejected you start getting a little tired of people pouring on all the negativity but such is life, and your right if I'm going to go into the military I guess I better have a pretty thick skin. Anyway I did email my recruiter just know and I'm going to wait to see what he says.

He bowls overhand.
First of all I started this second thread because in the beginning no one seemed to be responding to the other one, besides I haven't any rules on here I that have told me otherwise. Second of all I don't take to well to people telling me I am lazy, I no my grades aren't the best but I worked really heard for them just like I have worked for all my other grades, nobody had to give them to me I earned them. Third, the reason I don't wanna retake the test is because I'm going to be in the middle of one of my last semesters and I wanna keep my grades up because I have been told many times that those can be just as important or even more important than the test, so bottom line I'm not going to be able to take it for a while anyway. Fourth most people on this site seem to agree that I should just apply and see what happens, I'll just have to beef up the rest of my package, I have a descent GPA, good LORs, and am involved in a couple of clubs at school, and my PRT is coming along well. Who knows maybe I'll get a board that that will not put so much baring on it, and if not then I guess I'll have to retake the test, besides six months isn't that long I've had to wait longer for things in the past and ended up not getting so how is this any different. Bottom line is think I would like to take a chance and see what happens.
Lesson number 1 on military life: never take a damn thing personally.

I'm sorry if I put things a little too blunt for you, but really, that's the way it is. Your ASTB scores are not competitive, and they are a black mark on what otherwise would be a good package. If you are really serious about becoming an officer, and you know that you can improve a part of your package significantly, why wouldn't you do it? The kicker is that you know that your scores aren't good, given your original post. You wrote a pretty big paragraph on having school and other grades to keep up and whatnot. That's true, but the fact that you refuse to work on the ASTB as well is just laziness, plain and simple. If you really want to become an officer, you would put the work into making your package as good as it can be. There is no excuse otherwise.

Good luck either way.

From what my recruiter has told me its now a little different. Gpa comes first then your ASTB then PRT and then all the rest of your stuff.

You were probably just a little nervous...

Anyone who frequents this site and has all the gouge should be able to do a lot better than 5/6/5. Study harder and take it again.

Anyone here know someone who got less than whatever the minimuim score on the ASTB for pilot who has gotten a flight a slot. Only reason I say this is because I just took the ASTB today and got a 5,6,5; 44. I have been told that you have got to get a minimum 7 on all sections in order to be considered for a flight slot, however this is word of mouth. I know they consider of the package when they look such as your PRT and GPA which is a 3.27 for me.

That's BS gouge, I'm in with a 5,5,5 58 and a 3.02 Animal Science. Apply, see what happens, take the shit again if you don't like the results.
