Hey all, I'm up this month as well. I applied 1)Intel 2)SWO 3)NFO w/o BDCP (I hear INTEL is competitve enough w/o adding BDCP).

20 yrs old
ASTB: 6/6/6/56 ... i think (somewhere close to that)
College Junior: Int'l Relations and Poli Sci
GPA: 3.74
PRT: Ex. Lw

Poli Sci Honor Society (yup, I'm a nerd, but unlike most members, I'm not allergic to the sun)
I never participated with team sports, but I've been running for a few years (I turned in a list of some races I was in apart from school on my recruiters recommendation).

BTW, would someone please tell me what SNA is, and what it means to get pro rec'd? sorry...

SNA = Student Naval Aviator.
SNFO = Student Naval Flight Officer.
Pro-rec = Professionally Recommended. This means the board accepted you. The next step is to complete some steps like a security clearance questionnaire and MEPS (physical, might be done before Pro-rec these days). This gets your Final select. Pro-rec is the biggest hurdle and the majority of people get their Final select no problem (even if it takes a couple months).

Tom, would that security clearance questionnaire be the JPAS (dates back 7 years) or is there another form?

*Edit* Used that nifty search function and found that JPAS is the form that you speak of. Thanks anyways.

I have never heard of the JPAS. I did the EPSQ and went SNA. If someone were going the intel/crypto route it probably will be different. The process to get final select is the same though.

It is the JPAS now. I had to complete it before sending off the application. I also was sent to MEPS before sending for the selection board.

One more day! Good luck to all!

Hey JJH, did your recruiter recommend applying BDCP with INTEL? I was told not too since it is so competitive. What did your recruiter tell you?

Before I took the astb and did corresponding application requirements I had my mind made up that I was applying to Intel & Supply. My recruiter did not ever discourage that. Then after I took the astb, he told me I was competitive. So now I guess we'll wait & see.

Yeah I am just trying not to think about it...I have so much stuff to do for school and planning an engagement party and just getting things together for graduation. JT...my first "available" date for OCS is 01AUG...what about you? Haha, my birthday is 14AUG, assuming I get picked by then I hope nobody at OCS finds out my birthday is during that period..I can see the bs/unwanted attention headed my way. Good luck to everyone for the bagillionth time.

I don't think I'll find out until another week or two. I am pretty sure that my recruiter is on vacation (said he was going to be away for awhile), although he did not tell me specifically haha. No biggy though, He worked hard as hell on my application and deserves a bit of a rest (He had many other applicants as well.) Me waiting another week won't hurt. Besides, I will probably find out the news by the time I graduate on May 2nd. That would be one hell of a day if I am chosen.

I have another year of school before I can go to OCS (if I get picked up). Bummer, but I am assuming it is the same with everyone else who applied to BDCP. What a wait...

My first available date was 05 Sep. I'm in the same boat, birthday September 19th, but we'll keep that on the hush hush. I'd be just fine to have everyone forget my birthday this year if I'm in Newport. Maybe we will hear something today!
